I spend a couple days out of the week working for Bella Baby Photography, a great and growing company that contracts professionals like myself.
I use mainly natural light paired with a photojournalistic approach to capture the exciting, beautiful, and intimate moments of the newborn experience.
I love to do a variety of portraiture styles and am experienced in natural lighting, studio lighting, and on-location strobing. I love to work in vibrant colors, but also have that soft spot for the classic black and white photograph. To me, portraiture is a combination of character, mood, setting, lighting, and action. Dance, burlesque, acrobatics, sword balancing, hooping, fire breathing...I love it all! The challenge of capturing just the right movement to portray the energy in the performance is a thrill I hope to pursue for years and years to come.
Burlesque is the art of strip tease, paired with comedy, theatre, dance and glitter! I have had the honor of working with and photographing the best national burlesque acts for the past two years, including the annual St. Louis Burlesque Festival and many Beggar's Carnivales.
The compassion in me allows me to see eye-to-eye with all living creatures. Indoors on that favorite couch or outdoors in the natural element...contact me if you would like a beautiful portrait of your animal.
Music is one of the remaining things that can bring people together and unite them on the same wavelength. My favorite types of music are Funk, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Instrumental, Down-tempo...but mostly Funk. I am lucky enough to live in St. Louis, where the local music scene is thriving.
This is a sampling of some of my visions that have come to life. When I use the human form in my work, I always make sure to respect my model and keep it tasteful. The body is one of the greatest tools that I have found to deliver a concept.
The world is bursting at the seams with drama, chaos and stories waiting to be told. In the middle of all of it is my favorite place to be. Documenting what is happening before me whilst composing and juxtaposing interactions into one frame is one of my strongest talents. Along with documentary photography, I also love to create editorial portraits.
The world is full of wonder--What more can I say?
Sometimes, I am overly amused by the little things in life, which are actually the most important things---one of which is food! I found myself entranced by the patterns, infrastructures, and divine beauty in vegetables. I use colored lights to accentuate certain features of texture and shape to really show off these overlooked sculptures.
35mm on a Canon A-1 is my vacation. My intuitions draw me to the subjects that catch my eye and sometimes, I totally let loose and double expose a roll. I love the mystery and anticipation and most of all, the thought that must go into each exposure.

I am a St. Louis based photographic artist, specializing in event documentary and candid portraiture. It takes complete focus to observe sharply, remain unnoticed, and capture a story in a heartbeat. This fast-paced world of recording life visually and colorfully keeps me on my toes and discovering more about humanity.
